How Does A Poker Tournament Work

In poker tournaments, on the other hand, players buy a stack of chips for an agreed price. Then, they will play until their chips are gone, where they will be eliminated from the game. The game will be finished once one player has won all the chips.

Spin & Go’s are fast-paced, 3-Max Hyper-Turbo Sit & Go tournaments, featuring 500 chip starting stacks. Buy-ins range from $1 to $30, and each tournament has a randomly drawn prize pool that will award between two and 1,000 times your buy-in, up to $30,000!

  • In poker tournaments, players purchase a stack of chips for an agreed price – usually between 1500 and 3000 chips - and then play until their chips are gone, at which point they are eliminated from the tournament. These games finish when one player has won all of the chips.
  • Players compete by playing poker. The tournament can feature as few as two players playing on a single table, and as many as tens of thousands of players playing on thousands of tables. The winner of the tournament is usually the person who wins every poker chip in the game and the others are awarded places based on the time of their elimination.

What is a Spin and Go tournament?

In essence, Spin & Go tournaments are Sit & Go's that begin when there are 3 poker players ready to play. Spin & Go tournaments have the following characteristics:

  • There are 3 players with 500 chips each.
  • 3 minute levels, just like hyper turbo Spin and Go's.
  • No antes.
  • Rake varies from 7% in $1 games to 4% in higher stakes.
  • The typical payout for the winner is only 2 buy-ins. The 3rd buy-in goes towards the lottery-type bonus prize pools. Before the tourney begins, the buy-in multiplier is determined and players immediately know if they are playing for an enhanced prize pool.

Bought in for $1? You could be playing for a $1,200 prize pool. Bought in for $30? You prize pool could be $36,000!

  • $1 = up to $1,200 prize pool
  • $3 = up to $3,600 prize pool
  • $7 = up to $8,400 prize pool
  • $15 = up to $1,8000 prize pool

GG Network (which is represented by PokerOK at our website) is amongst most actively developing poker networks. They reached top-3 position in traffic and constantly improving their software. So far they’ve came up with pretty unique features like all-in insurance, bubble protection in MTTs, service called PokerCraft, which allows you to see your poker stats like VPIP, PFR, etc., and they also recently implemented tournaments staking function.

What is staking?

Basically, staking is a tool for players and backers (stakers) to increase their EV. You have enough skill to show a good ROI in high buy-in MTTs but don’t have bankroll to play them? Or you have enough bankroll to invest some part of it in a promising player? Than you need to look into staking. GG Network allows you to start using staking in Freezeout tournaments right in the poker client.

How

Here is some important info on staking in GG Network:

  • There is no fee for staking;
  • It’s not available for tournaments with rebuys and add-ons;
  • Seller can’t sell shares after start of the tournament;
  • Seller can cancel the sale before start of the tournament;
  • Buyer can’t cancel purchase of share (unless tournament is canceled) and money will be deducted from buyers account immediately;
  • Your share of winnings will be paid out automatically at your account.
